Next, you’ll need a Facebook page for your brand, or your business. This is necessary if you want to run ads.
(You don’t necessarily need to fill out every detail on your page, and/or to post from your page. However, this will help your brand look more legitimate and more professional to anyone that looks you up).
Next, you’ll need to create a Facebook Business account. This doesn’t have to be the name of your brand (it won’t show up under your ads).
Once you’ve created your Business account, create an Ad Account from within Business Manager.
You can have multiple Ad Accounts in one Business account – so if you have multiple brands, you may end up creating one Ad Account for each.
You may also ad multiple Ad Accounts to your Business Manager if you hire outside help for Facebook Ads (e.g. freelancers).
From within your Business Manager, add your brand’s Facebook Page (you can create your brand Facebook Page now if you didn’t already).
This will let you publish ads under the identity of your brand’s page.
Moving on, add payment info to your ad account. Unfortunately, Facebook Ads aren’t free – so you won’t be able to run ads until you’ve added a payment method.
This will usually be a credit card, but you can also use PayPal, and several other methods.
You may want to add multiple payment methods here, to ensure your ads don’t stop showing in the middle of your campaign, if there’s a problem making a payment.
Once you’ve filled out all the necessary details in your Business Manager and Ad Account, you’re ready to move on to the next step.
